The first Orchestra work written while attending Cleveland Institute of Music, this work is an adventurous ride with solo passages for the cello and borrows the concept of emerging from darkness into light from Richard Strauss’s “Death and Transfiguration.” This was a reading from the Orchestra so there are some areas that could have been performed better with more rehearsals.
